 Correct use of cold:
 Relieves pain from bruises, sprains, inflammations and swellings by applying cold. Can relieve pain.
 Correct use of heat:
 Relieves muscle pain and tension through the application of heat. May relieve pain.
 Application of cold:
 The compress should be placed in the refrigerator for about 1 hour at 5° before use. Then insert the compress into the fixing strap and place it on the painful area.
 Application time: approx. 10 minutes.
 Application of heat:
 • Heating in a bain-marie:
 • Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove the saucepan from the heat and place the compress in the water for about 1 to 3 minutes. Check the temperature after 3 minutes. Extend the heating time if necessary.
 • Microwave heating:
 • The compress should be placed in the center inside the oven
 microwave oven and be heated at 600 W for 15 – 25 seconds. Wait 20 seconds before opening the microwave oven, as delayed reheating is possible.
 Remove the compress using a protective glove and knead it carefully to distribute the heat evenly.
 Check the temperature carefully with the palm of your hand. If the compress is too hot, let it cool down. If the compress is not hot enough, repeat the heating process for about 10 more seconds. The compress should not be heated to more than 50°C, otherwise there is a risk of burns and the item may also be damaged!
